So the last couple of weeks have been pretty busy in the Cappi Cooks kitchen. For me the Jubilee basically = a huge amount of cake! I was awash with red, white and blue icing covering mini cupcakes, cupcakes, cake pops and big cakes. This marathon of patriotic cake making culminated in a three tiered beast of a jubilee inspired cake topped off with a crown which I will post about shortly, as soon as I have gathered some acceptable photos (preferably that don't include my face!).

Orange Ombre
The brief was for an orange birthday cake. We love a simple brief in the
Cappi Cooks kitchen!
This gave me an opportunity to make another one of the ombre cake I'm loving at the moment and that are doing the rounds all over the blogoshere at the moment.
It turned out gorgeous and went down very well with the birthday boy which is always lovely to hear.
And I don't think there could be any arguments that it was definitely a very orange cake!

Cappi Cooks Icing Lesson
We had another fab cupcake decorating class at Cappi Cooks last week. The lovely ladies learnt how to pipe swirls and flowers onto cupcakes and topped them off with delicate with marzipan roses.
Using brilliantly vibrant colours and accomplishing the two tone piping technique perfectly I hope the girls were very happy with the results!
And I finally remembered to take some pictures! So at last I can blog about the lessons! Even though I did only manage it when the cakes were already boxed up and ready to go and the photos are looking slightly shady...
Will definitely improve on this and take some better pictures of the next Cappi Cooks icing lesson...
